The main aim of RECC is to eradicate all forms of discrimination, prejudice and Hate Crime. Hate Crime Casework is a major part of our organisations – providing essential and vital support to victims of Hate Crime at a critical point in their lives when they feel they have no one else to turn for help.
Our Organisation is one of the many official LBR endorsed Third party Reporting Centres - providing a safe and welcoming environment for people to make reports against hate crime/ incident or abuse. There are many types of hate crime or incidents which not only involve race but also disability and statistics reveal disability Hate Crime is on the increase.
RECC also works at building awareness about Hate Crime and we work within our Community to promote equality, diversity and harmonious society. We are very fortunate that we work very closely with other voluntary
organisations in Redbtridge and neighbouring boroughs to promote these aims. Most recently, RECC partnered with Newham Monitoring Project , hosting a Hate Crime Conference during Hate Crime Week. Please click on the link below to download and view the conference report.
The Redbridge Fairness Commission has been set up by the Council to investigate into
inequality and poverty in Redbridge. A Fairer Redbridge is a goal which correlates with the
work of the RECC work as our work includes building awareness of inequality issues and
working to promote equality of opportunity, diversity and harmonious hociety. We encourage
as many people as possible to go to the Fairness Commission to take the opportunity to voice
their experiences of inequality and poverty.
The RECC made a presentation to the Fairness Commision on building stronger communities
and produced a report for the same.
