Our work includes:

  • Help and support to people who are victims of harassment or discrimination

  • Advice, advocacy and training on equalities issues

  • Good Relations work - building bridges between communities where there is tension and distrust.

  • Producing educational and information materials such as myth busting packs to challenge prejudice and racism.

  • Promote  as part of  our  outreach  work  RECC Exhibitions on Roma, Migration and Black History.

  • Talk to community organisations, schools, trade unions, and places of worship to promote equality and diversity and challenging prejudices.

  • Work closely with schools and young people to promote understanding , mutual trust , respect for others and build awareness of  equality issues amongst  young people - taking  year  group assemblies on  anti- bullying and facilitate classroom  debates on equalities and human rights.

     

  • Working in partnership with local statutory bodies to help ensure that problems in the area  are dealt with effectively.

  • Working in partnership with sister organisations in the neighbouring boroughs.

  • Encouraging isolated and vulnerable communities to participate and have a voice in the borough.
