Our work includes:
Help and support to people who are victims of harassment or discrimination
Advice, advocacy and training on equalities issues
Good Relations work - building bridges between communities where there is tension and distrust.
Producing educational and information materials such as myth busting packs to challenge prejudice and racism.
Promote as part of our outreach work RECC Exhibitions on Roma, Migration and Black History.
Talk to community organisations, schools, trade unions, and places of worship to promote equality and diversity and challenging prejudices.
Work closely with schools and young people to promote understanding , mutual trust , respect for others and build awareness of equality issues amongst young people - taking year group assemblies on anti- bullying and facilitate classroom debates on equalities and human rights.
Working in partnership with local statutory bodies to help ensure that problems in the area are dealt with effectively.
Working in partnership with sister organisations in the neighbouring boroughs.
Encouraging isolated and vulnerable communities to participate and have a voice in the borough.
